Links from forum are great for Link-building.Because every forum has a big community to interact. The most important is that forum content indexed rapidly. So it,s possible to get quick result.
Article directories are also good way for effective link-building.The links that come from article directories have great value to Search engine.
In my opinion article submissions is an effective way of link building. If the article directory is authoritative and provides with a dofollow backlink, benefits can be gained in terms of better website traffic and better keyword rankings.
Article submission used to be an effective way of link building, but with the new Google Panda and Penguin updates I would look into this before pursuing it further.
Another person mentioned social media. I'm not sure if they mean for views or actual link building. For link building all social media sites definitely have the nofollow tag on them.
Well, quality blogging is perfect.
I've tried another effective thing and that is file directory submission. I used a software to post free software and got backlink to my site for every posting.
There were more than 1000 sites and my site's PR jumped from 1 to 3 in simple 3 months.
may it be no follow or do follow, backlinks are still essential, especially if the link comes from a quality site such as tycoontalk, google will still count it as a backlink. tested and proven
