Thanks for the info . I think Google Gadget are application that work on Google homepage or any on the page.
They can range from simple HTML to complex applications, and can be a calendar, a weather globe, a media player, or anything else you can dream up. If you want to know more you will find it here:

I've found that providing alternative methods for people to access my website, such as via a gadget (a toolbar is another good example of an alternative access method) provides a good amount of well targeted traffic.
Just my thoughts that I thought were worth spreading!
