Be careful when you write critical reviews of sites. It may turn people away from you and your business.
It might be better to start out writing about the components of a good website. After letting people know what should be in a good site, then you could critique one site to help them to determine whether the site is good or not. Once you've educated them on what is good, and they see that what they have is not up to a good standard, then you'll need to demonstrate how you could improve on the site. If they agree with your improvements and design, that may get other jobs for you.
It has a high potential for creating controversy, and that can work for you or against you. How you present yourself and your "proof" of a good site will determine if the controversy will help you.
If you do get to re-do a site and you get agreement that it is the better work, that should help you with other jobs.
Good luck with your endeavor.
