you all are probably getting sick of answering my questions by now but heres one more.

i told you the other day i made a website but am getting NO traffic. i had a page one google ranking but i figured out it was for the wrong keywords. i used overtures keyword thing that shows how many searches have been done for the given keywords. the keywords i listed first when i originally submitted the site was like this; wildlife plaques, plaque, wildlife, nature, wood, wall, decorative.... those were the first ones... this is a website selling hand-crafted wooden wildlife plaques. well.... when i typed wildlife plaques into the overture keyword selector it came back with NO matches. wood plaque on the other hand has 1,788. so now i changed my keywords to read :

<meta name="keywords" content="wood plaque,wood,plaque,wood plaques,plaques,wooden plaque,wooden,decorative plaque,wall plaque,wildlife plaque,nature,animals,crafts,arts,wildlife,placks, plaque,pictures,decorations,woodwork,silver,jewelr y,windchimes,wind chimes,sterling,craft,hobbies,wood,gift,gifts,pres ents,buy,purchase,order,deer,geese,duck,fox,wolf,w olves,coyotes,coon,dogs,hummingbird,butterfly,fish ,snow white,dragonfly">
<meta name="description" content="wood plaques,wildlife plaques,sterling silver jewelry, and windchimes! Animals,nature,deer,fox, wolves,fish,geese,ducks,hummingbirds and other styles available. Perfect gifts available for any occasion and any person! ">

does this look okay? i want to get my site listed under wood plaque for google cos when i searched google with my old keywords, i wasnt even in the top twenty pages for wood plaque but was page one for wildlife plaque. is changing the keywords gonna make any difference at all?

thanks,
angela

Changing keywords I think may help, you might want to try resubmitting your site to google (free way) and then the google bot will crawl it soon and I'm pretty sure will change.

1,788 is still a bit on the low side....maybe target "plaques"

Can't remember where or how many but I'm sure google only looks at x number of characters in the keywords tag, making some of them potentially redundant.

keywords in meta tags are better co-relate with eath other tightly. for example, you might want to target "wallpaper", then you could include wallpaper,wallpapers,free wallpaper,desktop wallpaper ,
computer wallpaper and so on.

I seriously wouldn't invest too much time in meta tags. Just use 10-15 keywords and a short description.
Also your keywords are just too general.

Remember not to overdo your keywords... Try to keep the keyword tag down to about 200 characters maximum, or you could get penalized.

I'd suggest you go for key-phrases rather than key-words. Its worked for me and you can safely repeat a lot of keywords. In your case, you can go for things like - "decorative wooden windchime, purchase silver jewellery, wooden wildlife plaques" and so on. Try avoiding a word more than 4 times and dont have the long meta-keyword that you have, it only reduces key-word density and hence relevance. Try to limit it to max 80-100 characters.

Also, dont make the description appear like another bunch of keywords. They should be plain english sentences so that the search engine when displays your result can put it along the results.

Hope I helped. Cheers.

hmm... sorry to tell you this, but your website looks like it's meta tag spamming... you will do better by writing content and placing your targeted keywords (keyword phrases are better) inside the text. an 8% to 12% density will provide better results...
