Padawan, great work you never cease to amaze me.I can't imagine you get much sleep. I'd just like to add could every who is submitting to the list let us know what sort of response you have had. I'd hate to have to spend all day submitting only to get a few hits!

Thanks again Padawan.

Traffic-wise, the response is ok - good from some, poor from others but that will vary for other people according to which categories thay are putting their links into, number of competitors in that category, etc, etc.

Overall, I would say the traffic and sales it has generated have made submission well worthwhile, and hopefully it will have helped considerably when the imminent PR update comes around too

I have submitted to about 30 of the sites listed. I have removed some from my own copy of the list as they were not relevant or not working.

I can report I have had 1 pageview so far and it only took about 2 hours to submit all 30, wahoo.

Unlike Padawan I need at least 8 hours sleep a day, although I wish I could get by on less.

Very informative list.

Somehow, only one of the subdomain on magicalears.com got listed on DMOZ. The homepage didn't even get listed there.

Try http://www.SearchEngineSubmission.ws instead. It automatically submits your website to over 930,000 Search Engines, Directories, FFAs, etc for just $9.95. These links are included in their submission service. Just saves time. Up to you.

Fantastic list Padawan thanks a lot!

One short question: why is your PR equal to 0 on your website?

I definately think so (I only compile the list and have no interest in any of those directories, BTW)

Traffic from most of them directly is fairly limited, but obviously targeted and has therefore proved to be worthwhile for me at least. Also, after submitting, my backlinks increased dramatically and so my position in the SERPS improved. After about a month I saw my search engine traffic increase greatly, despite not doing anything else to promote my sites in that time.

Also it depends on what category you submit to. I was going for computer/internet/webmaster with a couple of sites and the directory pages were generally quite full and so competitive. If your site is listed on pages with few other links you may well get much more traffic.

Recently added a directory to my website. It is accessible through the homepage URL or at http://dir.portprophecy.com . Free, non-recip., and the links are clean. No redirects.

Check again, now showing PR4, with the majority of backlinks having come from this list

It looks like a new site is up at www.consumerpedia.org that allows you to create a page for your company and then claim that page so you can have a link to your web site and post rebuttals to any comments that are left about your company. It also is a one way link from their site to yours after the claimed page is accepted. The site currently has a PageRank of 6 on their front page so a one way link from them seems like a good thing.

Just thought I would share in case you want to add it to the list.

You have one of ours listed, it is a pr6 directory.

But we have just built a new one www.seeu.biz it is brand new and still being worked on but if you could add it to your list that would be great.

It will be some what different from our other one as we will be looking for very good sites that you would not normally find when searching on Google, MSN or Yahoo. It is 100% free.

It is only a couple days old but we plain to try and market it once we get everything working.

I've added 3 "good sites" to test the submission service. If it goes ok I'll add your directory to my list

Only kidding, added your link anyway

I'm currently trying out a person who will help me submit all my websites to the 250+ list of directories.

So far he has been quite good. Submited to over 65 directories today for 3 of my websites.

I realised that I have over 10+ websites and to submit to 250+ directories manually will mean that I have to submit over 2,500 times!

I believe in getting someone to do the manual job for me while I concentrate on marketing.

Anyone of you interested to acquire his services? PM me please.
