Someone asked for a report on TrafficFinder.us. I only spent $10 on it, and here are some results halfway through the run.

I tried the "10,000 clicks" for $10 from trafficfinder.us and here are my results so far:

- To date, the site says it has sent 4,600 clicks. The run is halfway through.

- My tracker reports 2,490 clicks received (unique within 3 clicks).

- My tracker also says there are 1286 duplicate IP's within 3 clicks of each other (I record the last 2 IP's, if the next IP is already in the list I flag as duplicate). This doesn't record duplicate IP's that were 4 clicks away from each other so there could in fact be less uniqes and more duplicates. This brings the total to 3776 clicks. Dunno where the others went.

- So far, 0 convertions...on a free site...zero...null...0...nada...did I mention the site is free?

- My usual conversion for completely untargeted traffic is about 1/500. Meaning I should have ~10 or so users setting the page as their homepage by now. Even if I got 5 I would be ok with that, even 3 would tell me that at least it's "real" traffic.

Maybe I will get 15 or so in the remaining 5600 clicks, but we'll see. I am ok with a smaller conversion, but not really ok with a 0 conversion.

I only spent $10. I do feel smaller tests are better, and so far this seems to be a good example of why. Again I don't really care about the low conversion, but 0 conversion is fishy.

Any comments?

Update #2: I checked all users that even just tested homepagepal's editor. This shows if anyone actually tried it. I came up with a big fat 0 for users that went from /index.php to /edit.php

This makes it clear that trafficfinder.us is just a bot. 7500 clicks, 3500 duplicates and 0 viewing the edit page. Oh well, $10 down the toilet.

ye.. i hate these sites. I try a site to send email for $25 a month..i did not see any traffic, in return may mail box get over thousand emails..

This is a common problem with these types of services. try reading the T's & C's on some of them just to see how genuine they are. Some of them have the best ones ever for zero accountability.

Camperjohn give www.prweb.com a try. write a good press release for your product and hopefully you should create some interest from the media. Explain what the service does and that it is free to use, I bet you would get a good reaction. Leave till after the new year.
