Hi All,

Im about to start building a banner exchange. I know banner exchanges arent a huge favorite with alot of webmasters, but I want to make an exchange that will help change your mind.

So here are a couple of things I am looking at using on the exchange. Your feedback would help build the exchange...

Should it have a sliding ratio? The better your site does the better your ratio, or should it be set at 1:1 for everyone?

Unlimited banners and sites.

What size banners would you like to see?
468x60 is a certain.
Other sizes I have noticed dont do as well. Not many webmasters use them.
I would also look at 120x600 and maybe 88x31. What else would you like to see?

How about a bonus credit for each click away from your site? You may have lost a visitor coz they clicked away from your site, but you gain a credit in return. Should this be higher?

No link under the banner.

Referral bonus of, say, 5000 credits.

Flash banners?

Credits on signup?

What would you like to see?

If the site doesn't have a 1:1 ratio, there is no way I would trade traffic. If you asked somoene for change for a dollar and they gave you 75 cents, would you feel that was ok?

Valid point. Alot of banner exchanges dont offer 1:1, so if I can make this exchange stand out I would offer a 1:1.

You dont like the sliding ratio idea? Reward webmasters who's sites work harder?

I'm not interested, but I used to use banner exchanges in the past and the most important thing for me was server speed.
