The site in question is really only advertising a tatooist....hence i cannot sell items online, so i see no point in paying for traffic, but i was wondering if there is anyway to get some money in from advertising other sites??? Amazon, google, ebay etc......not expecting to make my million here, just recover some of my hosting costs etc, any ideas greatly appreciated!!

Thanks....btw the url is armageddontattoos.com

Why not turn the site into a directory for regional tatooists with your own site in its regional section, try to optimise each region onto the first page of results and charge for people to have there site listed.

Or try to think of what compliments the topic, e.g. A lot of people into tattoos also like piercing. Maybe you could offer advertising to an online piercing store that sells rings or a local hippy store or something.

You could always add Google adsense which will display Google adds and pay you for every click.

Just a couple of ideas, I am sure there are hundreds of possibilities of making some extra cash. I think the first could be the most profitable but would also involve the most work (as is often the case).

2 things.
First, the first page that comes up....its a mess. Get rid of it. If you must have it, do something else with it. My first response was to leave because I really thought thats all the site was. Try a light page with the "nudity" warning, and a clear link to the main page.

Secondly, build some PR for the site. Get links from other tatoo shops, and sites potential customers would frequent (ie gay, pagan, rock, etc). Once your site has a PR of 4, you should be able to sell a few homepage links to sites wanting one way links. You may only get $3 a month from each, but if you get 5 or 6 it might pay your hosting. As your PR goes up, so can the prices of the links. As the months go by, you will see yourself actually making a small profit from the advertising.

Good luck.

I don't think Neorunner was stating the above and was trying to suggest some other groups of people that may have interests in tattoos. He also included pagan and rock etc, so surely was not implying all your customers sexuality fit into one box.

Where as Neorunner has not made a public attack on you, you have clearly and openly made an accusation and finally made a post that is sure to cause offence. Even if the post was prejudice which I'm sure it wasn't intended to be (misunderstandings being common in forums) I can’t help but think of an old saying "two wrongs don’t make a right"

If you feel someone has wronged you in this forum don't be brought down to their level and instead lead by example, I have found in life that not rising to bate is often the best way of annoying the person who is wanting a reaction!
