I don't refer to Alexa rank much because it is confusing. I think if you advertise your website more, you will get high rank. What I look in Alexa is their demographics reporting and what country your traffic comes from. That's very useful.
All their data is based on a very tiny percentage (2 or 3%) of Internet users who have the spyware toolbar installed. This is then extrapolated to give a hugely flawed picture of your "traffic".
The major user demographics with the toolbar installed are webmasters who haven't learned any better and marketing "experts" scamming their "clients".

Yep... Sometimes it's really confusing. I have seen many site which are getting very low traffic but still have high alexa rank. I don't consider high alexa rank is always good for a website.
