How acurate is web value calculator?

Have you used a web value calculator to calculae value of your site? Can search for them and do it once and tell me how acurate you think are them?

they are NOT even remotely close.

How can any thing work out the "value" of something without knowing what revenue it makes???

Those are nothing. The website calculators calculate the website only on the basis of backlinks it is having. There is no real value. For example I might be earning $$$$ per month with few backlinks on the other hand I may be having Much more backlinks and ZERO earning.

Totally inaccurate. I analyzed my websites with higher page rank using that tool. It says my sites have low value. Duh.

it is waste to calculate value to a site. if you want to find a value then check for backlinks.

I agree. A majority of them are totally inaccurate. One will tell you that you have a goldmine where another will tell you that you could not even line a birdcage with a printout from the site. The best way to calculate a website is its overall revenue that is generated per month.

A bit late to the party, but this is the best valuation tool I've found to date. There's a very good website valuation guide here, if you want to do a bit of background reading.

what people forget is that these sites are meant as guides. i know there's a few other ones out there and unfortunately a lot of people use them for the wrong reasons. they either use it to scam/boast about their sites to end users who know nothing about these tools themselves in order to charge more for their sites, or are newbies who don't understand why a tool like this operates in the first place.

Your backlinks, traffic, PR, alexa, etc don't mean a thing to me if I'm buying.
When establishing value, I want to know how much money the site actually makes. The rest is just BS to distract from what's important.

Me too. There are far too many people valuing their own sites based on their "potential", or wanting recompense for all the hard work and money they invested. At the end of the day, it's the expectation of profit that motivates most website purchases.

It's a very good way to get traffic, I mean for the owners - look how many of you tried it! That's pay per click at its best - that's how all pay per click works - screw what the person does when they get there, just get em there and give em some pay per click to look at - one in a few hundred will definitely (at the very least) click, and if you have something viral like that you'll clean up 10s of 1000s for putting out nothing but pointless inaccurate rubbish.

Not greatly different to the "calculate who you are going to marry using your name" scripts which apparently draw in a lot of usage.

On the other hand if you make unadulterated spam with ppc via the usual source, maybe the web value calculator gets it spot on every time!

They are just numbers that pop up and most of the stats in these value calculators are not genuine.However some have genuine stats. And i usually peg the market value to 1/10 th to 1/1000 th of the value of these automated calculators!

i have used some calculators like websiteoutlook.com in the past.they show the value of website based on the no. of visits it receives everyday and revenue it can generate through ads placement.
these figures never match the actual value and have no importance when you buy or sell your site.

OK if i understand right you are saying annual profit x 10? I have a site I would love to sell for annual profit x2.5 I am new to selling these and was a hobby site. Now too much work for me with everything else. Is that reasonable?
