Well, just submitting to search engines is not going to bring you traffic, and as you said backlinks, this can sometimes cost money if the person doesn't know the way to do this.

Also, you said google will send traffic to your site, depending on the niche or the market the client is in, it is going to take ALOT of work in order for google to start sending any traffic your way.

I had sites that sat on page 3 of google for a long time and didn't see any traffic until it started to get on page 1 or 2. It is reality that noone usually goes past page 2.

it has been recent that i have been advertising and it was such a great deal looking for free sites and other site to provide me with competent ads for exposures. but it was a good thing that i was able to find few reliable ones.. like craiglist ... why dont you try it.

All these are great free ways to market and work really good for the most. All you need is a lot, lot, lot ,lot of time.

That is the problem with most new internet marketers they think can promote there site to a few different places and they will start to see traffic. But the truth is you will start to see real results after 6 mouth of heavy promoting a few time a week for several hours.
So if you really want to be successful you will need pat. and persistence.
