What are the best traffic sources for your sites? Here is my google analytics summary of traffic sources for the last month:

1. blog postings (41%)
2. google organic (23%)
3. direct traffic (22%)
4. social bookmarking sites (9%)
5. forum postings (4%)
6. link directories (0%)
7. link exchanges (0%)

As for quality, blog postings are the best as well, along with forum postings (about 5 pages per visit, 4 min. average time on site), social bookmarking sites are the worst. Doing link exchanges and submitting to link directories might improove your pr, but in terms of traffic they worth exactly nothing (i'm not listed at yahoo, dmoz).

Hi, I post a lot on forum, etc..but never on blog. In fact, i don't understand how this help traffic on your site. Do you create different blogs or do you post on others' blog? thanks for your answer...

I get most of my traffic from the internet.

Just a tip, ebookey, if you don't know about it already, you should check out Google Books. You could link to their content and expand your inventory by quite a bit. Not all of their books are full copies, but quite a few are.

I think joining a viral listbuilder might bring quite alot of traffic if you work it a bit.

Well, I found Classified ads and social bookmarking useful for me. How?? It seems you hadn't correct approch, so you didn't get relevant traffic from there.

I post my comments on relevant blogs, with my url in nickname. But a great deal of traffic i got from postings and links I didn't even ask for.

IF you have some good articles you can get a lot of traffic from social bookmarking sites. You need to be careful and target the write niches with int he social bookmarking sites.

Most of my traffic are from forums directories and link partners.

I have been trying to increase my traffic and over the last couple of months I have had the most success with link directories (although I don't think the quality is very good) directory listings and relevant forum posting.
