one other way would be to create 2 more websites in relativity to your content

And then of course you would need to be getting backlinks for THREE sites.

If you can't manage for one site how is multiplying the problem by three going to help??

submitting your url to the directories will make you no traffic but back links. popular forum with recent threads do.

Funny I was gonna say the opposite.

If a directory does anything (and often it doesn't) is bring some traffic. Submitting to directory for the sake of a backlink is a waste of time. It's not because a link points to your website that Google will consider that a backlink. They managed over the years to "select" their backlinks.
