Given that the site is stealing most of it's content on it's blog, doesn't actually use keywords in page titles, is littered with AdSense ads, and seems to think that stuffing keywords into the meta keywords tag is effective I'd say no the site is not a good source of information. For anything.

What kind of information are you looking for to market your site? There are lots of things you can do, but unless you have money to spend most aren't going to be fast.

Can you let us know what you have done so far. It'll make it easier to offer recommendations.

One quick tip would be to add a signature here with a link back to your site.

Wow! I think your response was very insightful. Well my site is EmployeeTube.com with hopes to take the online resume solution to the next level. My partners and I are almost finished with development and are just researching methods of SEO, It seems like everyone is a traveling snake oil salesman.

Im looking for multiple sources of free SEO information, that I thought I would try to see what they have in common and build from that doing it myself.

I will setup my signiture now, thanks for the recommendation.

hmmm, there is nothing on your site.

Anyways, marketing a website? I think you mean promoting and obtaining
traffic?

Do the signature thing, here and in other forums.

Find blogs about SEO and after reading their advice, leave a good comment,
using your domain name as your commentor name.

There is tons of great SEO blogs out there.
Try a search in goolge for seo blogs
try problogger
copyblogger
etc etc

I just read a thread on this forum about site promotion.

If you're looking for seo blogs I'd recommend SEO Book and SEOmoz as two good places to start. SEOmoz has a beginner's guide to seo. I think it's under the articles link.

There are plenty more blogs you can read (I write one myself). If you start with a few they'll start to point you to some of the others. Many of the comments you'll find on any seo blog are left by other seo bloggers so often if you click the links to visit their sites you can find more good resources.

+1 for SEOmoz. They have a lot of great tips.

About SEO - there are thousands of snake oil salesmen out there, so watch your step. And you can get a lot of good info for free. Check out sphinn.com, and searchengineland.com
