I would generally advise against buying any marketing ebooks unless you have lots of money to burn. You'll probably get some good nuggets of information, but, from my experience with their freebies, it'll be mixed with a lot of hype.
I'd bet Myspace is going to keep cracking down on the people using it to advertise. (Unless they buy the ads, of course). They already seem to be pretty tough right now.
I still think MySpace can be used for profit, however. If you play by their rules and gain friends legitimately and/or get a buzz started about something unique. If you use somebody else's ideas out of an ebook, it's not going to be unique. Keep trying ideas that you think up, and you should eventually be able to find something that works.
"Disclaimer": All of this is my opinion, it's up to you to decide what you're going to do.
Edit: I looked at the site that's selling the ebook you mentioned. Quote: "Squeeze pages are for suckers." -- Me. (Though somebody else probably thought it up too) I'm not saying that you're a sucker or that by buying it that makes you one, just that's what the "target audience" is. They have a lot of extra stuff added, but what are those actually worth?
