It's 2:51am and I'm awake and frustrated with the progress of one of my web sites.

Because of this, I am once again thinking of sending out thousands of automated link request e-mails.

The domain shows 6,670 inbound links in Yahoo, and I want to at least triple that.

So, while I do believe that those spam emails are evil and that they have a very low success rate -- I am once again considering sending a batch out.

Has anyone had success with that strategy, and if so, what software did you use?

Hello Will,

I never had success with sending out batches of random link requests. I have used link-building services to get a quantity of links quickly in the past, but found that strategy didn't work well - for me.

What worked for me, so far as reciprocal links, was seeking out quality sites with themes similar to mine (home based business) and requesting links one at a time. I never trade links with seriously off topic sites, such as gambling or real estate sites. Google in particular takes into account whether the incoming links to your site are from sites related to yours.

I've been testing with sending out manual link requests since I started this thread.

It's an enormously time consuming process. That's why I'm looking to automate.

The ability to send link requests only to related sites is definitely a required feature of the application which I am seeking.

I've been playing with SEO Elite to find link parters and to email them one at a time.

It is a time saver, but I'd rather just outsource this whole process to someone with google English skills and lots of free time.
