Ad Blindness, or the ability to subconsiously block out ads, strikes many. What groups have you found that are less likely to be ad blind?

Technical, web/SEO people have a high degree of ad blindness. Who does not?

I think this is the understatement of the century.

Teenagers on the other hand...

Well, anyone who uses the internet a lot tends to just blank them out. Depending on the types of ads. If it's a "hey you just read this article on X, why not try Y?" kind of ad, I don't see many trends in blindness. But your typical "I'll just stick my adsense on the right column and pray someone clicks it" approach is obviously ignored by most people who recognise it as such.

Targeted ads are less likely to be ignored, by all demographics, ads should be helping other people, otherwise they won't click on them

Cough, being a 19 year old who pretty much never ever clicks on adverts... Neither do most of my friends... Teenagers aren't all as click-happy as advertisers like to think we are

mySpace users, they are freaking click happy to the max. I was getting 60% CTR on a site I was promoting through mySpace without even having that well blended ads.

Yea, but most teenagers aren't web devlopers. I am a teenager also and i also kind of buzz over ads but I do look at them and sometimes visit sites in them if they are what I am looking for. I think that is key. It doesn't matter what demography you are in, if the ads are relevant they will get some amount of clicks.

But yes, teenagers specifically myspacers like to click on ads .
