Hi everyone, just wanted to get some expert advice on using videos (youtube, google video, myspace, etc) to market your business... does anybody have ideas that they want to discuss?

Trying to get everyone's opinion on video marketing through sites like those, and any strategies that you think might be a good idea? thanks everyone!

I just did my first test in YouTube the other day.

So far not much traffic.

As with MySpace, I expect it's all about how many friends you have

My thoughts are that you will not get a whole lot of traffic depending on the video maybe you could. However, I think you would have a really good chance of picking up members for a forum. If you own a car forum say for a specific model I think if you post some quality videos there you would get a lot of members but I don't think a site running adsense type programs would do well since there is not that much traffic. I guess what I am trying to say is that there isn't a lot of traffic to be had but it is quality traffic. That is just my opinion with it though.

If you can get enough visitors to your new videos, they will show up on the most popular pages. That's when the traffic really takes off.. so if you've got an opt-in list, send them an invitation to view the video when you release it.

That's what I've been thinking of doing, but I need a mac to successfully edit videos. Just insert your url in the video and the traffic will come in =).

I would say that if you could come up with a really fun and different ad type, it could be really good. Nobody will watch a commercial, but if you make a funny short, etc. you could get alot of hits.

www.revver.com is a new site that attachs ads to videos and then encourages everyone to promote them. The revenue from the ads is shared out amongst promoters, giving everyone a chance to earn.

Might be worth testing some viral videos out on there.

Either give great info or something so fun that people will pass it around. I've seen peopel use YouTube for advertising - but they have huge lists.

THis is another site you can share your video in net.

metacafe.com

My thoughts is if you want more traffic to your side, upload good & quality video that people most like to see. Then add your url in that video. I bet you will get some consistant traffic for a week.

For example, after adding your video in metacafe or youtube, than embed it in your forum or other forum.
