I am using Firefox 2.0.0.7 in Windows XP. My page has a variable width, with a min-width setting. IE Renderer rendered IE7 with a very wide screen -- I had to open the width of my browser to take it all in.

There is one limitation to IE Renderer: Enter something like http://www.example.com/#foot and it renders the same view as if I had omitted #foot.

I use MSIE7 also, to check out the site, together with Opera 9 and Safari for Windows.

BrowserShots gives me a postage-stamp view, but I get a good idea, and know that Konqueror 3.5, I think it was, renders my site well in Linux.

A friend e-mailed some screen shots in MSIE6 to give me a good idea on how well my attempt at an alternate CSS worked out for IE6.

Thanks for the links.

Another one is Browsershots: http://browsershots.org/
This one isn't immediate, your 'job' goes into a queue, but it really doesn't take that long. It does give you a big choice of the OS's and browser configurations such as screen resolution, flash, javascript, color depth, etc.

Then there's BrowserCam. Not free, but you can get a free 24 hour Evaluation: http://www.browsercam.com/
This is GREAT! You're a lifesaver... ok, atleast a time saver. This is why I joined this forum, the information I get here is PRICELESS!

The first link lies. I looked at my site in it's "IE6 Render" and it looks nothing like the IE6 I viewed it from.

Thanks for the links. I'm waiting on browser shots to return SS of IE 5.5+.

I've heard of Gomez's BrowserCam they do a lot of browser testing and the parent company does speed tests from many different locations (desktop and server environments) from different backbones all over the world. Unfortunately the Gomez speed and location tests are VERY pricey $6k+ a year for their basic plans =[

Free will do just fine for Browser testing though =]
