Take a look at my site and check out the nav bar.

You'll see 2 black and white gradient bars either side of the nav buttons. What you wont see is the white borders that are supposed to be around the words of the nav buttons. When I made the nav images, I included a white border in the images.
For some reason, they do not show up on the black background.
Download one of the images and you'll see the white background.

Any idea why this is happening? I'm stumped.

And what could fix it? Aside from re-colouring them to a light grey, which I'd rather not do. Yeah, I've had this problem before and I could only fix it by re-colouring.

I'm on Geocities if that matters.

I took a look at your page and saw the problem you are experiencing. Then I took a look at the markup to see if something jumped out at me.

You have several problems going on with this markup:

First, you never close the anchor tag that points to densa.html. One of your problem images, outposter1.gif is the content of that tag. Not sure how, but fix that and see if it changes anything. Second, the image tag displaying the image forums1.gif is malformed in that you have img duplicated.

Again, I don't know that these errors are compressing that table so you can't see the borders, but fix them and check.

Well, I fixed those errors, but it didnt work.

I fell back on my back-up plan of re-colouring them to a very light grey. For some insane reason, it worked as you can see.

But now, its thrown me another problem. The arcade nav button refuses to line up with the others.

There are no < BR > commands, I've tried altering the image width with commands, i've tried removing the table the nav is in, I've tried using spaces in hope of squeezing them up, but it wont shift!

That arcade button is the same as the former red ones I had, except for the colours. I just don't understand it.
