I am new to building templates within Dreamweaver and would like to know why I can make and edit pop ups for drop down menus fine when they are in a normal html file but when I edit one in a template the path to the desired URL does not come up correctly. It seems to drop back one subfolder.

It has to do with the template being in a subdirectory in your Dreamweaver site folder.

Just play around with it a little to see what you need to do. I believe you will have to make all links relative to the template, then when you create a new file from that template it will adjust accordingly.
