I seem to have the opposite problems to other posters regarding borders not showing in firefox.... I don't want the borders but they appear!

I have a site that works and displays exactly how i want it in IE, but in Firefox and opera, all of my tables end up with unwanted black borders which kill the look of the page.

Any clues as to why this might be?

Lots of reasons this could happen, but w/o being about to SEE your code or your page, it's impossible to know what the actual fix would be.

Undoubtedly, IE is doing ti WRONG, sorry. IE does not even come close to adhering to the standard and has so many bugs you need the Orkin Man. It has a seriously broken box model for one thing, and does looney things with borders, text boxes and lots of other things:

If a page looks right in IE but not FireFox then IE is wrong as IE is not a compliant browser. Just a guess but have you tried adding border="0" to your tables.

I figured it could be a case of IE getting it technically wrong - although it displays in IE exactly how I want it to.

to check out the problem for yourself, go to this link and also the "place your order" page that links from it.

Add this to your stylesheet:
td{border: none;}

In addition to that, you need to give the body of the page a BACKGROUND color of #ffffff (white). Not everyone goes with default windows colors. What *I* see is your boxes on a pale pink background - which is my desktop default.
