Hey Guys

I am currently editting a website made by another designer, I am running into an issue where it states the following "Making this change would require changing code that is locked by a template or a translator. This change will be discarded"

I tried copying and putting it on another page to see if i can break the template, but that doesnt work.

Any advice for a novice web designer like me?

Thanks

I had the same sort of crap from DW, too - had to start from the beginning, editing the most "root"-level temlpate first, then working through my way to the top, one level at a time.... Unfortunately, I had to re-do all editedRegions at higheer levels that depended on the edited templates at the lower ones..
Real bother....
Not sure if that's the answer, or if someone else had a different way of doing things in this situation..

Do you have access to the ORIGINAL DW template ??? That is where you would have to make the changes. You CAN copy the html out of a template, but you have to make sure you do NOT copy the code that DW inserts to define the regions.

You should also be able to turn off the regions in the DW settings, but I haven't worked with any DW templates in a very long time.

Thanks alot guys you all were a really big help.

what i did was copy the code outside the template (copied it to word) took off all the locked instance regions and paste it back to a new page and that was able to do the trick
