Not sure of the error.

Hello.

I have been trying my hardest to sort out this error that has occured on a site that I work for.



If anyone knows how to fix this error, please reply A.S.A.P as we cannot launch the site before we have fixed it!

We'll need to see the CSS for that page. Plus knowing what browser you are experiencing problems with would be really helpful.

I'm moving this to the HTML/CSS forum since it seems to me to be related to that.

Is your padding set to '0' in the CSS? Otherwise, I'd check my math and make sure all the graphics add up... although, I'm sure you've already done that.

Just go over your code to make sure all the tables are properly coded and no conflicts. Look for minor conflicts, things like where you put some cellpadding here or had these two width add up to more then the actual width of the table. things like that usally make stuff like that happen. But really, I can only suggest stuff without seeing the code :P

firstly, I don't think he would have liked you posting the html for his front page without his permission, secondly, posisbly try switching colspan with width? I don't know, I don't work with colspan, I've always used width and height. I find they work the best.

The images are too short to fill the TDs, try making them repeating background images instead of images inside the TDs, you can also make them much smaller in size which will load the page quicker as well.

The way you have it set up the page has to render exactly pixel for pixel as it is in your graphics program. That can be hard to do for all browsers/OSes. you need to re-code it so it can scale a little bit if it has to. Use CSS to place backgrounds more precisely.

That's not possible. I'm working with Firefox and for that you can't disable the View Source button.

HTML is actually a sort of 'Open Source language'. You may look at the code every time. It's just that Server-side languages are not availible to look at if you don't have promission to the server.

But that's another off-topic story. Sorry to all mods :P
