Hi, I'm new here. I apologize if you don't feel this is enough info, I'll try to clarify if necessary...

I know how to embed avi files, but I want to know how can I make it so that with a series of clips, I can have one play immediately after the other one ends. I'm sure it uses some simple JS and possibly events like onBegin and OnEnd. Please show me the code that would produce this automatic start of clip2 after the end of clip1. Ideally, there would be no loading time in between if clip2 started loading (buffering) while clip1 was still playing. Is this possible? Please show me, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Not sure how you do it with avi files, however I know you can do what you want using Windows Media Player (wmv) files or Realplayer files. With wmv, you can create a playlist or metafile called a wvx file. This file is just a simple txt file that controls with video clip to show when. You can get files to run sequecially or even at the same time in sort of frames (but not in the html sense). Have a look at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...afileguide.asp

Okay, thanks very much for the info. I managed to connect some test clips together, and it works with avi. I want to know if there's some way I can make clip2 load while clip1 is playing, effectively eliminating the wait in between. Is this possible?

Here's the test page and test clips... don't worry, I'm only using geocities for test purposes: Test Metafile Playlist

Hi,

Another solution : you can produce flv files for Flash with Riva Flv encoder (it's free). Then you can preload all your files with Flash, and play them one after another easily.

Thanks for the tip Marvin, but if I'm converting .avi to flash doesn't that effectively turn the whole thing into a lot of images and slow down my webpage? (I'm not sure at all, I may be wrong). And does this method eliminate loading time in between clips?

And please check my Metafile Test page (link posted in previous post) and tell me if it works for any of you. Thanks.

If you knew the length of each clip, you could use javascript to change the content of a div (assuming you hold it in a div), according to each clip.
