This is my first post and I am self taught in web design- so please bear with my questions.

I am using a template that has two forms in it. They use Matt's FormMail cgi script.

For about half a year, I have used the forms with little incident. www.steelintheair.com/quotes.htm is the first.

Within the last week, there has been an abnormal reduction of forms submtted and a few people have called stating that the forms did not work. So I tested the forms- with no problem.

I then had a number of associates test them and half received an Error 403 message - the server read the request but was choosing not to fulfil it. Authorizations would not help.

I have not changed the script or the webpage html- so I suspect that something has changed with my host- 1and1.com. I contacted them and they stated they would reset the permissions - but this did not change anything.

As I really don't know much about this- I have just muddled through- I was wondering if there was something the webhost could have done that would have caused this problem?

Or am I looking the wrong direction?

Thanks,

Ken

Hi Ken,

Welcome to the forum.

I doubt it is anything your hosts has done, intentionally anyway. It might not hurt to reinstall the script either.

Have you checked Matt's site? Could be a known bug. Try sending him an email, he's pretty good about getting back to people considering he doesn't get paid for it. A good tip, donate. After a year and half of problem free use, I'd say he earned it. Remember a donation doesn't entitle you to anything so try not to come across as demanding and he will most likely get back to you.

Good luck,
