What are the websites or places on the net where I could be able to find a good and a cheap coder for the coding of my website. Coding would be made in psd to xhtml.

When you say "cheap" be careful because spending little money will in most cases affect the quality of work produced.

I have heard great things about rentacoder.

http://www.psd2html.com are the original players in this industry. Fair price and great results. Going cheaper will only cost you quality.

Having been in this industry now since 1988, I can tell you that there has always been a mentality that computer people no matter what skill are nothing more than glorified specially trained office grunts.

This attitude is usually perpetuated by white collar types who make more money in an hour than their subordinates make in a week.

It has also been exasperated by the allowance of foreign visa employees in this country. I tried to rally programmer friends against this decades ago and they all sat back and watched their jobs disappear.

Then came the Internet which allows people from certain countries to lowball without having to leave home. Thus creating a competition that can only be attacked one of two ways.

1. Matching their lowball bids.
2. Creating an environment where they are NOT welcome and letting employers
know that if they use this type of coder/programmer, they will be left hanging
by their gonads when the code dies.

It's the same way in tech Support. All these National Corporations who outsourced their tech support to SE Asia and India. It has been proven time and time again that this type of tech support is usually useless and worthless but only a few companies have reversed the move. The rest have not, INCLUDING the Federal and many state governments.

If you don't fight it head on one way or another, you lose. otherwise get ready to change professions or do something NON-technical. Notice my tag lines. they aren't all technical.

There was a time when I was the consultant companies called when all the other consultants failed them. Not any more. Companies only care about price. I call it the Walmart mentality. Cheapest price no matter how bad the quality or the results.

Welcome to the New World Order. America as you THINK you knew it is Dead.

It's not exactly an American Only sentiment. I use software that was created in England, Holland and for my Wordpress Blog I use ad-ins from Germany and France. I also support software developers in Russia, Australia, New Zeland and South America. Quality people all, doing quality work for a FAIR price.

BUT, I do not support nor will I hire anyone from India, Pakistan or any of the other countries who lowball work.

Heck, my logo graphic from my technology was created by a young lady in the Philippines. She will get anything else I can muster for her too. She pegged exactly what I wanted and I found her on this web site via a contest.

Trust me when I tell you, I keep both my Congressman and Obama well aware of the issues we encounter in this industry. Congress is clueless.

And speaking of something that will affect this industry Dramatically.

For those of you who HAVE NOT joined the fight to preserve Net Neutrality, the time is NOW to speak up. John McCain is trying to introduce legislation that will stop the FCC from enforcing NET NEUTRALITY rules. he's pandering to ATT and others who are trying to restrict activity on the Internet.

Sorry to soap box here but there are a few issues that really flip my switch.

I think a missing part of this conversation is what needs to be coded. For XHTML/CSS you could probably find cheap, it is simpler, and a lot more people can do it comparred to more advanced coding. For PHP, mySQL, ASP, etc, etc. I would check out Get a Freelancer as mentioned, and also oDesk which is pretty cool IMO, although I've never used either as a buyer.

Those PSD 2 XHTML sites are probably not an option for affordability, since most of them are targeting people who need things done super fast.

Even worse in photography: many people expect it to be free.

Whenever I read "good and cheap" I read a statement of someone who doesn't want to spend money.

In this case: do it yourself.
