Please, i really really want to know how this works, as i really want it for my site.
Look at this website - http://64.22.124.195/
The music starts, but when you go to other pages, the music carries on playing without stopping.
How can i do that for my site? I already have a flash music player which i can embed on to my site pages, but for each time i go to a new page, the music flash player goes back and plays from the start.
A HUGE thanks to anyone that can help me out!
EDIT: btw this is the code for my music thing -
Quote:
<!-- Begin Copy/Paste -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script>
<div id="flashPlayer">
This text will be replaced by the flash music player.
</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
var so = new SWFObject("playerMini.swf", "mymovie", "75", "30", "7", "#000000");
so.addVariable("autoPlay", "yes");
so.addVariable("soundPath", "song.mp3");
so.addVariable("playerSkin","4");
so.write("flashPlayer");
</script>
<!-- End Copy/Paste -->

The only way to do this is to not refresh the whole page by either using AJAX to refresh the parts you want to change, or using frames and keeping your embedded player in a frame that does not change. Either way it is a PITA just to keep a tune playing throughout the site.

Just create an iFrame...It's very easy to do something like that!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!
Is that plain enough for you ?? Playing YOUR music when people land on your web site, FORCING everyone who lands there to listen to it is BAD, BAD,BAD - annoying, stupid, you name it. Worse, THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF !!!
This is probably THE #1 pet peeve of web surfers. Suppose a visitor is listening to their OWN music when they land on your site ?? Now they have TWO songs playing - overlaying their own !
Just DO NOT DO IT !! Am I clear enough ??

Lol, my website isn't really aimed at a universal audience, it's more or less a clan website, so only a specific type of person will visit, and it's natural to have a nice background music to go with the clan site.
The only problem is the overlaying music, but the one i've got you can easily just pause/start it.
---------------
Back on topic, i've spent hours trying to put one page in iframe but it just keeps looking messed up and out of shape.
If i pm'd someone one of my site pages could they show me by putting the "content" part into iframe? Then i can jus do it myself for the rest of the pages... this is something i really want for my site guys :S

LadynRed is right. Music playing when you visit a site is annoying and makes the visitors close the browser to escape your site. Now, which is important for you? Playing music on your site or having surfers to visit your site and perhaps make money them?
You can neglect this though if your site is exclusive for you and your family and your friends.

You could keep an iframe with the music in it and change the rest of the page around it. This way the player will stay in place and won't reset. If that isn't working well with your design than consider just having a popup player....

Can you or someone show me how to make this flash player come in a pop up..
Code:
<!-- Begin Copy/Paste -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script>
<div id="flashPlayer">
This text will be replaced by the flash music player.
</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
var so = new SWFObject("playerMini.swf", "mymovie", "75", "30", "7", "#000000");
so.addVariable("autoPlay", "yes");
so.addVariable("soundPath", "song.mp3");
so.addVariable("playerSkin","4");
so.write("flashPlayer");
</script>
<!-- End Copy/Paste -->

I agree, please do not put music on your site. I normally leave a site just as soon as I landed once I hear music. If you are going to use much though, at least have a button that enables the user to stop the music. Or better yet, don't play the music and have a button that enables you to play it if you want to hear it. Chances are the end user will not want to hear your music, only you do.

you could put the music on your page and use an iframe to change the page within the current page so the music will carry on playing
