Hey guys,
I have a question about online Registration. I have a little programming background, but I'm don't have database background at all.

I really don't have enough time to learn more about it.

I'm making a small website for a retreat, but I'm stuck on the registration.
I know how to make the registration form but I don't know how to accept credit card payments.

I did a little searching and this came up
http://www.regonline.com/

This also came up:
http://www.thriva.com/eventregister/...processing.htm

I thought about using paypal but I don't think that will help out since I can't link the payments to the registration form.

Has anyone used this before or has any other recommendations?

If you guys can chime in and let me know what you guys think, I would really appreciate it.

**I didn't really know where to post this, so sorry in advance if it's in the wrong forum.**

Thanks

I suggest you get a merchant account with a payment processor of some kind, and then download an e-commerce script with built in registration, but one which is customizable so you can use your payment processor. There's loads out there though

Not sure if I follow.

So you're saying get an e-scrip and integrate a payment process like paypal within?

Yes, that's right. The way you would integrate it would be under custom payment options or something.

I use http://www.kmitascripts.com/kmitamhome/ for processing my forms (registration), then I will use the link for my merchants paypal account in the submit button, so when they fill out the form and hit submit it goes directly to the paypal page. I don’t integrate anything.

OH man, I don't know if I'm going to be able to get this working. I'm limited on the amount of knowledge lol

I really like this way simply because I'm not well educated in the area.
Few questions though:

1. You paid for the kmitrascript, right?
2. If I was a programming guru and did it all myself, would I still have to go through a service like paypal?

-Paypal charges about $3.30 per transction. We'll probably have 150-200 people going. That would be $495 to $660 in fees

I realize there has to be fees of course, but I was just curious if there's a cheaper way.

Thanks again

What I mean is, little programming knowledge is needed.

Download something like zen cart, and change some of the custom payment options in the admin part.

I'll have to see what I can do after my exams

Should I be concerned with safety issues with those scripts?

Those scripts are updated many times to avoid security issues, I don't worry about safety with them, they seem pretty safe...but it's your choice

Yes I paid for Kmitrascript; to me it was worth it, it saves a lot of time.

There are many banks that does online transactions, many that charge less than paypal; but you will need some type of bank that allows you to do online transactions.

I don't think you should be doing something too quick. IMHO.

I meant the form itself. I'm not doing anything with the payment processor service till I fully educate myself
