i have been trying to find the coding used for an email link. im not sure if i am using the correct terminoligy here so i will explain what i mean.

i would like to have a link on my page that is an email address and when this link is clicked on it brings an email client with the email address entered.

i have seen this done before on other sites and was wondering if any one could help me on this matter.

This is simple.. it's a mailto link.

The easiest one to do that still allows you to use the mailto: link is munging. Substitute something like [at] or [delete this] for the @ symbol. For example:

<a href="mailto:yourname[at]email.com">Email me</a>

These days I think most people realize that taking anti-spam measures is a necessity, so don't mind having to edit the address.

I've also seen people go so far as to describe all of the characters in the email address in ASCII code in the markup. This method is far from perfect, of course.
