Hi Stig

HTML is simply a static document format (like plain-text or a Word Document or PDF or something). Without some kind of "backend" or other script that produces this static HTML, it's impossible to make it dynamic.

PHP would be my recommendation but it's a shame you're sick of it. Perl would be a good choice, ASP to a lesser extent, JSP possibly. The "backend" stuff is where the magic happens on most web sites.

If you wanted to go oldskool you could use Majordomo and create your own public e-mail mailing list (kinda similar to a forum), and keep a web archive of that. Or for a low-traffic site people could e-mail you responses and you simply paste them into the HTML and reupload the file.

Again, my recommendation is to stick with PHP There are many most excellent forum scripts out there already, even small ones. I've seen an entire forum system that runs from a single PHP file. Some very friendly community folk may even install the script for you, or you can buy "hosted and managed" forums where they give you a login and you're ready to rock.

Hope this helps, at least a little.

you can create forums in only html texting, but ur best bets is to use dhtml coding. It will be more dynamic (obviously). Dhtml is very easy to grasp. You could also try using javascript. All you have to do is copy and paste the java codes into your <body> section and <head>. For best places to get these try:

Javascriptkit
- For java scripts and applets

Dynamic Drive
- For dhtml scripts
