If I have an iframe on a page do i need to use the frames doctype thing or not. I know you do if you include a normal frame but I wasn't sure about this...

You shouldn't need to use the frames doctype - the floating frame simply loads another page inside it.

If you wanted to use a frameset in the target page in the iframe, then yes you would need the frames doctype in the src page.

Hope this makes sense

heres a script which will create an iframe

Paste the below code where you wish the window to appear, and you're done! Be sure to change the width/height and src property of the mini window to your own:

<iframe name="cwindow" style="border:0px solid " width=150 height=150 src="doc.htm"></iframe>

Notice the "name=cwindow" attribute inside the above code....you'll need this if you wish to create a link outside the mini window that loads the target url inside the mini-window. For example:

<a href="minidoc.htm" target="cwindow">
