Hello,

I'm a novice developer but also a site owner. I want to be able to either buy an off the shelf software that does this or figure out how to build thousands of static web pages with placeholders for city and state. For example I want to build http://www.abc123.com/los_angeles_CA, then http://www.abc123.com/detroit_CA, then http://www.abc123.com/denver_CA etc but with the click of a button. Any direction would be appreciated.

Not sure where you are going with that. I have a client, a self storage owner, that has 110 locations and I don't want to build each page by hand. If there is a way to find and replace and create proper link structure then it would save a lot of time. Any other ideas?

As long as you have these in some kind of list ... ideally a database ... you can do a mail merge to fill out the individual pages. But if your Denver, Los Angeles, and Detroit pages are really only different by the title and url ... even if there's no effort, it doesn't seem worth it.

In a case like this, i'd use SpringMVC. And only create one page.
I'd map /city/*.html to the page.
I'd parse the sity/state from the URL and, as Forrest said, the data would get dropped in dynamically from a database.

I dunno...sounds like a template and database would be the ticket here. I don't know if I understand the problem statement though.
