Many are aware of using like IE7, IE8, firefox etc but IE6 is also being used by many people since long time back so it will not pass away that easily as everyone is expecting

My question is this: I've been taking great care to check compatibility of the pages I have been building of late in Opera, FF, and making adjustments as necessasry for IE7. They work fine in all of these and are standards compliant, but IE6 destroys them, mostly because of the use of negative margins and bleeding elements outside of their content areas. Should I really care, though? I mean, putting the time in to fix every page for that pathetic browser, to me, is like putting a new film out on video tape when you can get a DVD player for fifty bucks, sometimes less, with better picture quality. Guess what? You're hard-pressed to find a lot of new releases on tape. The industry has spoken, and whiners who hold on to IE6 should expect that it will destroy a lot of pages. Opinions?

IE6 like said before will not die that quickly. On alot of old systems that I've seen, IE7 doesn't even work. But why not use Mozilla I have to ask? Also, with all the new browsers and everything out there, Internet Explorer is losing alot of ground. Has anyone heard anything on Microsoft (buggy as usual) fixing the bugs on IE7?

well we should expect this IE6 to die out, it is just a related to softwares with upgrade version throwing in or modifying to satisfy customers. For now, for designers the trend should be going up for the newer version

IE has been crashing on my computer since I upgraded to 7 beta. I tried to uninstall it but couldn't for a long time, finally when i was able to revert to 6 it, too, crashes all the time. Ah well, I like firefox better anyhow.
