Hi! This is Brendan and I'm very new to this particular forum although I'm a member of many online forums discussing music and such. Anyway, my site (http://www.rhsj.com) is having a bit of a problem being listed on search engines. I know that falls under a different category, but one of the problems is that the title of the index.html is "Checking for flash plugin." No matter what I do in the head tags, or with title tags, or with the actual flash plugin, I cannot remove this title and change it to the title I want. It's listed on google, et al but the listing comes up "checking for flash plugin". It's my downfall!

Is it built in to say checking for flash plugin? Is there anything else I can do? All the other pages have the correct title, but the main page is the one that needs it! Does anyone know how to fix this? I know I'm quite new here, but I'd be happy to help anyone, and will check this site and use my knowledge to help anyone else. Thanks so much! I'm using WYSIWIG, but I primarily use and understand html.

It says that because your index.html page (the default page for your domain) says ******Checking for Flash plugin****** at the top. Google indexes that page because it is the first page it sees when it visits www.rhsj.com.

I would just get rid of that page altogether and rename your main.html page to index.html.

Within a month or so google should reindex the new index.html page and everything should be fine.

Just remember, what you first see when you visit your site, isn't necessarily what a search engine spider will see, such is the case in your situation.

I can just get rid of the page that says **Checking for flash plugin** altogether? Then transfer the main.html to index.html? If that's so then I thank you for making it so easy!

yes, it should be that easy.

good luck, and be patient with google, it can sometimes take months for a site to be properly reindexed.
