I have two color schemes that I'd like for you all to look at. What I am looking for is opinions on whether or not they work together. In each square set, the bottom right corner box is the background color. The top right (pinks) are to be used in the logo and in a few other minor places.

This client is an interior designer and insists on having pink in the site. Opinions and suggestions here would be great. This works because...blah blah or this doesn't work because...blah blah would be fine as well.

They both work, actually, although the 1st one is rather washed out. The brighter pink with the paler green is more appealing, it's just better contrast and the bright pink adds some punch - as long as it's not overdone.

I think they both work too. Personally I like the colors in the left scheme better, because I tend to like washed out colors, but I think the one on the right with the brighter pink may be more appropriate for an interior designer.

I agree with LadynRed about pink. It's not my favorite color, but I've seen it used very well in moderation. Too much and it will lose me, but when used in small amounts to contrast with other colors on a page it can add some punch to a design.

I would have to agree with vangogh about the 1st one. It seems much more appropriate for an interior designer.
The second one seems a bit young, (if you take a look at my space/bebo etc they all seem to be using dark brown/black with bright pink; apparently its "emo" )

I agree with this as well mainly because given the two choices, my client went with the option #2 (one on the right). I had difficulty making the choice because personally, I too liked option #1.

I was agreeing with the fact that he liked washed out colours in colour swatch one rather than neon bright colours.

When the site is done will we get to see it? I'm all for a link, especially since we all helped choose the color scheme. Do we get co-design credit? No? Oh well. I'd still like to see the site when it's ready if you don't mind sharing.

This is what I have so far. Needless to say after we met today, she felt that background had a greenish look to it even though the color is actually golden-rod. So we are going to be changing it to a more white to grey fade, which I think will still work with the pink.

Couple of points:

1. The side menu color hasn't been finalized yet.
2. The page hasn't been optimized for IE.
3. I haven't added the robot txt. yet so don't razz me about it.

It looks good. I like the design and I think the colors look good as they are. I think a white to gray gradient will also work and I'll be interested in seeing it when you make the change.

I'll also be looking forward to seeing your site when it's ready.

I like it The bright pink adds just the right amount of punch to it.

A couple of suggestions though.
The pale gray text is a bit too pale, some people with visual impairments (like the handicapped and elderly) may have trouble reading that.

The rollover text color on the green buttons is way too light, the text just about disappears on hover. If she does business with the handicapped and elderly, it's best to modify your color contrasts of text on background so that text is still easily visible.

Made a change to the background color. I'm using a washout background (greyish) with hints of the bright pink. Tell me what you think (see).

I like the new color better. Seems to work well with the pink. Normally I'm not crazy about patterns in the background, but I think it works well here.
