Hi to you all

I'm just about to launch a new product here in the UK and have got this far by begging and borrowing grants from universities. I'm now down to my last pennies, so i decided to build the website myself but am now unsure of a few things. They are :

1. The site is very background image intensive. I get browser errors as the table heights don't transpose too well in Firefox. I use Photoshop CS and Dreamweaver MX 2004.

2. I need to embed a forum into the site somewhere and would relish the oppurtunity to get a designer from this site to create the necessary functionality. Perhaps i'll post a new thread with a competition to whoever can create the best. This is my first post so i'll find my feet first, see what responses i get to this thread.

3. The contact page looks awful in Firefox as the images wrap horizontally and i've tried many things in Dreamweaver to get rid of this, even the "No wrap" tick box

Basically, i've self taught myself how to do graphics and web design and now put my hands up as to how far i can progress the site. I haven't the time nor the inclination to learn how to code php, css, c++, vb, iou, NASA, asap, etc, etc so would like to pass the baton on to whoever wants to take on the challenge.

I believe this product will reach the dizzy heights of iPod as we will be having talks with them later this year but was pleasantly surprised to stumble across this forum on my internet travels. I get a feeling that the demographic audience of this forum is exactly our target audience, so what better way to build the next generation tuition device by getting young web designers found here to add their own flavour and creativity.

ps. i tried to post in the website review thread but you need to have made 3 reviews, one a week. Can't wait 3 weeks

Anyway, i'm open to questions and look forward to the responses.

holy cool product! i suggest making the 3 boxes on the bottom of the home page live links to their shown products.

i think the body text is killing the site. it's comprehensive, and it looks like a LOT to read. Perhaps a different font, and maybe a softer grey?

is there a way you can change the gloopy-background on some of the pages? I dig the curved elements, but the home page is the only page that differs from others.

Thanks 3rdShift, much appreciated.

it's a work in progress and i will need to do links in bottom boxes as you recommend.

Bit confused what you mean by the body text. Do you mean the box background? I think arial font is the nicest font but would welcome a font type you think would be better.

Don't you like the rain drop background on the other pages? I could reduce the transparency but feel that this backdrop adds visual impact

Thanks again.
