I'd like to see your opinions on this little sig I made for gaming forums.

I like your sig image. I don't particularly like the font, there might be one that would look better with the rest of the graphic. But the tri-color, or dual shadow effect on it is good!

I looked at a font called Beware, it might look good in there too.

Nice work!

Cool, thanks. Where could I find this font? I looked at some font sites but couldn't find it.

** Take that back, I just found it =) I'm editing it now and seeing what it looks like.

Personally I think they are a bit too large to use as a signature image... I don't think a sig image should be any larger than a 468 x 60 banner ad - even then that's a bit on the large size for my liking... not many forums I visit allow image signatures anyway...

I've seen some gaming forums that allow "almost" whatever size for a sig. But even at that, it seems most of those only allow up to regular banner size (468x60)

I like the decap! Are they for gaming or graphics forums?

They are for gaming forums. I work at for the MMGN.com network helping out with the Soldier of Fortune, Medal of Honor, and Unreal 2 game sites. When I'm not updating news or answering pathetic questions, I just usually work on graphics and web page stuff. So, I decided to try and spice up my signature.

Koo, yea, I worked a little harder on the decapitated one. I got bored again and made another one. This one is for the Soldier of Fortune 2 forum. Tell me what ya think..

Also, anyone know how to make that shattered glass effect? I can't find an example so I can't really describe it well ..lol.. just looks like broken glass.

Hi Wicked,

I think all of your images are beautifully crafted, though I agree with Tiggy: some of them are a bit too large. Actually, I really only felt the "Decapitated" image was too large to use as a signature. I also noticed that the images would look gorgeous on a black background (I can almost imagine it ), but on a white (or another light color), they might not look too hot. It might not matter though, since most gaming forums I've seen use a black color scheme anyway. Anyway, I admire your image designing skills, and I think all three fonts were excellent and fit the theme perfectly. I don't understand why Dave didn't particularly like the font in the first one. I honestly thought that they all were pretty impressive!

they all look good, you have a graphical talent.

personally i agree that they are a tad on the large size. the maximum size in this forum for the little images is about pix isn't it? something around that. if everyone on this page had signiture images that big (say...5kb) that would be 6 people's images, so 30kb of image download.

this would increase page download time substantially, and reduce browsing speed and therefore happiness

so, for sig images, smaller is better and happier. looks good though
