You started 2 separate threads in the same forum about the same thing? What's up with that? One time is enough.

I would be interested, if you have some samples of what you've done and your prices.
Some things that you probably want to work on if you want to impress people with your competence are spelling and punctuation.
I think it's ok, to use single letters as a substitute for words in a casual chat enviroment such as IRC. But if you want people to take you seriously, then you should really consider it.
You can post some urls to samples here or you can PM me if you want.

I took care of the double post. No problem. I also got rid of the unnecessary posts.
Samples of your work would be good to post, especially if you wanted a review from the members. However, if you need advertising, please PM the Chief.
Thanks.

Hi, I'm Tom. I've been making website layouts since I was 11. My work is pretty inexpensive because I'm only 14 years old right now. If you are interested, please contact me at the screenname below.
i am willing to give neone examples of my work if they talked to me on my aim screenname which is rollerrebel919.

Is it just me, or was this post totally confusing? To be honest, I can't make heads or tales of it.
Are you looking for someone to design for you, or are you wanting to sell your design/services to someone else?

Kid, learn some photoshop and some english. You obviously don't know very much on how the 'real' world works. Yea, maybe you do make websites, I've seen some of yours and they aren't all that special. Do you even have a method for your customers to pay you?? Also, do you think posting the same thing 3 times is going to get people to buy your stuff?? NOT!! They just get annoyed. You need to learn how you're going to run your web design business before you go too far. Also, what languages do you know?? HTML, PHP, ASP, XML, JAVA, CF, PERL?? You should know at least 2 of those before you go too far. A webdesign business isn't all that easy at all. And, no offense, but if I were one of your customers and I needed some help with your templates, I don't really think you'd be able to help me. You are only 14, and you're acting like you're 10. Young, greedy, and looking for a quick way to get money. Money comes with hard work. If you think people are going to pay $50 for templates that aren't worth $10, you won't get far. And it would be nice if you had links to your work. Or a website that you designed.

That's a bit harsh. The kid IS young, and so what if he's looking for a quick way to get money?
I'm all for a quick way to get money, and if any of you could show me such a way, I'd go for it. Oh wait, did that just make me greedy?
It's quite obvious that rollerrebel isn't very knowledgeable when it comes to web design, or even doing business online. But that doesn't mean he should be discouraged from doing it.
You could write an email to him, and explain some basic things. You don't have to go all out and be his teacher. But you could attempt to chat some with him.
This seems to be all too common on the internet... when someone not as smart as the rest in a group does something stupid, they get shot down by others.

Hi theblt,
While I understand your passionate feelings towards the growing number of inexperienced youngsters in the field of web design, I think that many of them are just as capable, if not more, than those who are 20 years older. And the only way that will happen is by encouragement and constructive criticism. We all have very strong feelings on various issues, but expressing our anger just isn't worth it, especially when it's at the cost of someone else's self-esteem. Let's try to promote a friendly, helpful atmosphere here, OK?
Rollerrebel91, I would recommend taking some of the suggestions recommended by the users who have posted in this thread. Theblt brings up a good point -- when you want people to agree to paying for your work, it is often best to show professionality by using formal English when addressing others and by including a link to your business website with your portfolio.

My opinion is that some people feel inadequate when they hear that someone that is 14 years old is breaking into doing web design, no matter what that persons skill is. If that 14 year old happens to be even better than they are that usually raises their anger level.

Ask yourself how good you were at 14 years old blt (don't tell me you are 12).
I had only just grasped reading
How can you expect a 14year old "kid" to market his/her work in a professional manner from the off. I admire the youngsters enterprise and courage to post such a direct Ad.

I'm also 14 years old and am into web design. While I do recognize that there are indeed "youngsters" out there who do not know much about graphic design, I do also believe that there are many talented "kids" out there who have adequate knowledge and skill to make decent website layouts and graphics. Of course, theirs may not be as professional as those designed by people who have actually taken classes, but they can very well be deemed decent in quality.
I've been maintaining a website of my own for two years, with one year of experience in Paint Shop Pro 7 and Adobe Photoshop 6. I do not consider my work childish nor do I consider it professional. I do, however, think that I can make and maintain a decent website that most people judge as at least average, and that "youngsters" do have a lot of potential with a couple of years' work and practice. I mean, I worked hard to get to where I am (300 hits daily), and I don't think people give enough justice to the number of "youngsters" who can code layouts and use graphic programs to create high-quality graphics.
This is an age where technology and computers are the "hottest" things worldwide, and believe it or not, more and more kids are becoming involved in web design at an amazingly earlier age than previous years. I do realize that I have a lot more to learn, especially in using PHP and MySQL, and I'm far from being as good as most of you here, but give these "youngsters" a bit more credit!
I respect many of you for the extraordinary websites you design, and your websites will certainly serve as inspirations for me in the future. I hope that one day, I can become as proficient at web design as many of you here. Also, I respect your opinion on this issue concerning age and web design, but I just thought I'd put my two cents into this discussion.

Well let's get down to basics. It's not how old you are, but what you are able to create with the knowledge you have. Never to young, never to old. Just have the desire, and do the best you can and improve on your work with the knowledge you gain. Getting back to fourteen year olds You should check out cripper2000 site. I was impressed!
