Alright, a lot of people seem to make layouts using one of the above programs (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro). I have found tons and tons of tutorials on how to make certain things in those programs, but none of the tutorials have taught how to make a decent layout in one of them.

That is where you come in. I have the latest version on both (Adobe PS 7 and Jasc PSP 8), and if anyone knows where I could find a tutorial on making a layout, it would be greatly appeciated.

Note: I put this here, in the graphics board, because it doesn't exactly fall into any of the other categories, and, since it has to do with imaging, I figured that I'd put it here.

Personally i would like to say that i never read tutorials about making layouts. I read some tutorials about Photoshop but layouts.
I think that for layouts you have to teach it to yourself.

First you need to have knowledge about layers ; how to use 'em and such info is required.
Then you can start making them.
You can ripp designs your own to make some layouts .
(Don't get me wrong - I don't mean rip and sell Just to practice yourself. - NEVER SELL RIPPED ONES LATER )

After making some practice I'm sure you'll experience.
For example me :
I made sooo stupid layouts in the past about a few months ago. but now I'm getting better. you can see some examples www.layoutking.com/portfolio

Also i would recommend adobe ps 6 for layouts and such other operation - I'm not sure whether ps7 has more options or not but i don't like it .

I think that's all i can say for now...

Good luck...

Those are awesome! The only downside, for me, to what you said is this:

I have never succeeded in teaching myself ANYTHING. And I mean ANYTHING.

I've been trying to teach myself PHP/Javascript/C++/other for about 5 months, and know nothing... HTML, I learned from a friend...

Every link that I click, it says "Error: 404 Page not found!" or something like that...
