I have decided to make some logos. I would like to make some in swf format. I have put a few up. I have no idea how slow or fast they are because I have cable. It would really be nice if someone with dial up could check them out and let me know if they are fast or take forever.
Thanks Crow

If you have Flash, you can "test movie" and use the bandwidth profile to tell how long the movie will take to load on various connection speeds. The default settings are 14k, 28k and 56k.

Hope this helps..

You could always calculate them yourself you know...Assume that 56k'ers download at around 5 kbps. Divide how many kbs your flash thing is by 5 kb. Thats how many seconds it takes.

But it's very nice with the Macromedia Studio MX package and Photoshop because they automatically calculate it for you.

I think the swf's that Ulead creates look good on cable or dsl, but I just checked them out on my friends dial up and it took way, way too long to load up and look good. Those type's of logos will have to go in my cable/dsl section. Remember I'm just doing this for fun. I thank you for your suggestions.

Since your making them in unlead is it possible to save them as gif's first then optimize them in photoshop for the web, then re-import them into unlead and then make the swf, hence making a smaller file size and faster downloads.

It a big task but im sure worth it, if possible.
