hi im trying to use a image for a header image in a website....i deleted the background and saved it as a png file but when i upload it to photoshop.com it automatically gets the white background even though i deleted the background & when i look at image info it says the image is a jpg .so any help????..what can i do to make the background stay transparent my email lwl392011@gmail.com

jpeg format images (.jpg) do not support transparency.

Ask whoever runs the site you are uploading to.

Hello lwl,

What graphic software are you using? When saving the graphic to a png with a transparency background and the graphic is uploaded, it should be saved that way, with a transparency background, allowing the site's background to come through.

A thought came to mind, some sites don't allow png files, so it could have been automatically changed to a jpeg. Go back to the site and see if they allow png files......

I believe the alternative to a PNG file would be GIF file for transparency on the background. I do not know how much image quality will suffer with GIF vs PNG though.
