Anybody has a link or site where I can get tips about photoshop; photoshop basics. Also, is there a site I can go to that has designers and artists displaying their works?

Photoshop is a very broad app... I find that trying to pick up a book and start at the beginning doesn't work so well. Try participating in some informal photoshop contests, such as those on Fark.com or what have you. When you need or want to do something you don't know how to do, look it up. Worth1000 has some very good and entertaining entries.

This should be a good start. Feel free to skip around to what interests you. After you get the idea of the basics start googling tutorials that you want to achieve and you will learn as you go. Good luck!

The best way to learn is just by trial and error. Everything I learned was from figuring out what all of the buttons do. Of course, there are a lot of places you can read up on it and get some cool design tutorials but you'll never understand them until you actually get the experience in.

sometimes watching someone else do it does not help because by time you watch them, then go back and try to do it....you've forgotten already.

The best way to learn to design logo will be to look at vector logo design on google.. Also it will be easier to use illustrator to do that rather than photoshop. But it can be done in Photoshop.
