Hi there, I need to remove the sky from a background to be used in another program which inserts different skies in the image It has to be in tga format, with 32 bit and 72.000 resolution. I have tried this but keep getting different results does anyone know how to do this. The picture is a panorama which is the background in the program.

Simple:

Separate the sky from the background, then put it on it's own layer. Once that is done, you will be able to manipulate the background in anyway you wish.

TGA format ?? Who uses TARGA format any more ?

The best way to 'remove' the sky is to use a mask, it's non-destructive and you can adjust a mask fairly easily to refine it.

Sometimes, if the sky is very clear and separate from the rest of the picture, you can ramp up the contrast to 100. The sky will turn white, and everything else will turn black. Use the magic wand to remove all the white, then turn undo the contrast change.
