Is Photoshop the best software for Graphic design? or do designers use other softwares aswell as photoshop? are the others Adobe's softwares ?

That depends on what kind of designing you're going to be doing. Photoshop is not the ONLY graphics program, but it is the industry standard. You can also use PaintShopPro, or GIMP, which is open-source.

There are plenty of options out there. Adobe's software is expensive, but very good and has a large professional community for resources. GIMP is a great free alternative. I used to do graphics mostly in Paint Shop Pro but I'm not a fan of the versions after 9.

Aviary ( http://aviary.com/home ) is an interesting online graphics tool suite.

Photoshop isn't the 'best', it's just the most widely recognized and synonymous with graphic and web design. I prefer it, but you could just as easily design with gimp or paint shop pro.

I am Paint Shop Pro user and have quite a few copies of the software, however I plan on purchasing a copy of Photoshop. Several months ago I found out the Paint Shop Pro Community (not everyone, but a lot of the people) were using both softwares. Over the years I have acquired a vast amount of filters (plugins) some were paid for others were given freely, my feelings are use everything you can acquire.

I find Photoshop to be the best for me, though I often use Illustrator for drawing illustrations [duh].

Pixelmator is great for beginners have I heard.

I have been using Corel Draw / Paint for 15 years. I can probably do anything an Adobe person can do. It's just what I started with when I was a kid, and its what I know. I like it and with the little experience I have with photoshop/illustrator, it seems easier to me.

I think it is thats what I use for all my graphic designs

I've never used Paintshop or GIMP but I've never had to consider another program because Photoshop has always been capable of meeting my needs.

I can't really say that it is the best. We can categorize it as to "one of the best" or "most popular" software for graphic design.

But many people uses different kind of software like Adobe Illustrator, paintshop, gimp, corel and more. They can also be considered as one of the best it's just that photoshop is way more popular and easy to use.

for me yes. but because i did not try other software aside from photoshop. search to the internet what is the best software for graphic design. i think there are a lot of software for that.

Actually photoshop is the best in the business but learning it won't be easy thou you will have lots of time to grasp things in a hard way. The first time i've used photoshop it took me months to actually grasp the whole concept of it.

Photoshop is NOT a Graphic Design" Program. It is a Photograph editing program. For graphic design you should be using a Vector editor such as Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape
