Please look at this link. Almost developed site

The images are obviousley all copied from diff sites. The orifinal images were all diff sizes. Bow they are all forced to be the same size. This messes up my site. I had hears there are things that can be done. any suggestions?
Thanks a ton

You got PHOTO SHOP? easy upload an image to photo shop and then go to image, image size, then just change the size specifications. Therefore the pics will actually be the size you have on your page now, but withought using the html resize which is very bad to use.

A lot of photo editors can resize pics.

Another one that is good for resizing, or even changing extensions is HiJaak.

you can even resize this with Paint, or let HTML take care of that for you.

Example:

<img src = "jbook.gif" width=50 height=100>

the width in the picture jbook.gif will be 50 and the height 100
problem solved!

hope that helps

If you really want to do something technical (and save yourself some time in the future), you could use PHP and GD. Create a script which resizes images to the correct size. Then you could load all your images as:
image.php?i=http://thesite.com/images/theimage.gif

As I say, it might be quite a lot of work, but you would only need to do it once. You could even pass the size as a variable so that it is multi-purpose.

Myabe there's something on Hotscripts that allready does that.....

How about this:

Hi Effyzaz,

Out of all that, did you get that you can resize the image and maintain the aspect ratio with programs like PhotoShop, HiJaak, and ACDsee?

If you don't have those programs, ACDsee if probably the least expensive and does a good job.

With all of them, you can download the pic. Open it in the program and resize it. HiJaak will also let you change the extension. You can maintain the size ratios so it doesn't scew the pic. Save it and upload them to your site. I think most of them will allow you to change the resolution, but I'm not sure.

Did that help?

Dave

Another useful program is Microsoft Photo Editor. It comes with Office, though I don't think it's installed by default. It's really supposed to be for editing photos (hence the name) but is excellent for resizing images too...
