As you can notice, I'm new in here .. hope that I'll find useful information in this forum ..

So , I'm about to finish my new website , www.youtips.net , I can say that I'm good enough in xHTML / CSS , a little php , but I'm really not good at all in graphics ..

I tried to make a logo , you can see it in my site, want to know what do you think of it ?

And is there any method in the net to get a free logo for a website ??

It looks good, one question though, what is the reason for having such a big tittle (the dot on top of the i), does it represent something?
I think it fits the site very well.

Just out of curiosity, why under the share and contribute section is there just random text?

Just to find Ideas about favicon .. I said I'm not good enough in this ..
to give you an idea , this is the first logo I design in my life ..

The i dot looks too much Pepsi-like, i'd use a normal one. Also tray combining other colors apart from that red.

and what's that blue dotted line that runs along and then down between the 't' and 'i'?

incidentally you also have some validation errors (and why are you using a transitional dtd : if you're good enough in XHTML/css then you should use strict one

p.s. also it's annoying when you hover over the links in the navigation and the text size increases slightly making everything jump

you saw it .. it's an accident , and I couldn't fix it ..

I validated the document two months ago , and after some changes , it's normal that there are some errors , but i'll fix this of course ..

I think this was excellent for your first time. Good job!

in the meantime here's the logo without the blue line

Not bad at all. But I think that the font are a little bit distorted.

Hope you can fix the colors as well to make it more better and emphasized on its location.

I think that I should focus more and try to learn illustrator, photoshop or photofiltre ..

davemies, could you plz change "the red color" in the "point" to the blue color used to write "tips" ?? I'll be really thankful ..

and I think it's enough for the first version of the site .. no ? could change later ..

yeah but not exactly , the red part of the "i point" must turn into "blue" , not the inverse !

bit tricky without the original to work with but ...
