Hello to all.

I have heard that you can take an image, make it a low src image which makes it a placeholder, and then add that image some how that can editted to add html or links. The placeholder makes it hold teh spot, but then the image that you bring in makes it a small background for that area of space so then you can add another image or whatever,

You can't edit images in Dreamweaver, it is not a graphics program.

I thought there was a way to make an image a background image in dreamweaver so that you can add text on top of it?

That you can do. Create a link, make your image the background image using CSS, then insert your text between the opening and closing a tags. But there's no magic button to do that for you; you still have to have coding knowledge to make it happen. And LnR is correct (as usual ) in saying that for other editing to the graphic itself you need a graphics editor; DW doesn't have any kind of image editing function.

DW has an option for a 'tracing' image.. but that's just for helping you with your layout.
