I am new to flash. I nearly dont know anything about it.BUT I wanna make my own flash. Can someone please tell me how to edit a .swf file. I want to modify some text which is written in that format

You can't EDIT a SWF file. It is a COMPILED Flash file. If you want to edit a movie, you'll need the original FLA file.

Sothink's SWF Quicker allows you to edit swf files.
I've used it many times to convert vbarcade to ibpro games.

Hmm.. I hadn't seen that. Not cheap though. I used to use the SoThink decompiler which was marginally useful.

You're right...it's not cheap.
Unfortunately, it's the only other tool in existence (that I know of) that edits swf files.

A guy payed me a couple years ago to convert some games for his arcade site.
Most of the time, I just had to modify the actionscript to send the scores correctly.
But, I was also able to change text and graphics in many of the files. Some were
protected by the author and I couldn't access them.
