I want to start to create more 3D art work with my logo's and website designs, and was curious on what you think is the best program to start learning? One that is relatively simple to use or learn. I'm not going to create huge peices of 3D art work, just little bits and peaces in places of my designs.

Thanks,
Royce

Blender is free, and highly recommended. Me, I can't figure it out, and still prefer my old, dead, Metacreation's Infini-D 3D. It's buggy, but very capable.

Depends how involved you want to be with it. Blender is free and good. Lightwave is a great program which I used to use all the time. Nice render engine attached. Do you want to do animation as well or just 3d art work?

Illustrator is a primary 2D Vector software which does not apply here.

As mentioned by Capt Quirk & legallink, Blender 3D is a Free opensource option for you. Great if you have no experience yet in the 3D industry & wish to get your feet wet learning prior to investing hundreds of thousands of dollars on 3D software's up to industry standards like: Maya, 3D Max, LightWave, Etc...

I would suggest downloading Blender www.blender.org & start training yourself as soon as possible. If you decide that 3D is not for you, at least you won't be out of a large amount of cash. (E.G. Maya Unlimited runs for around $7,000.00 usd)

Hello,

You can use Adobe Photoshop CS2 or 3 to create 3D text. I have always heard really good thinks about bryce 5 (http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/software/bryce/-/). However, it also takes alot of computer resources. Best of luck.
